05What counts as enough of a brief?
Two paragraphs is plenty. Who's this for, what does it need to do, when does it launch, rough budget. I'll ask the rest in our first call.
How do projects actually start?
1) You email/WhatsApp me. 2) 30-min intro call to gauge fit. 3) I send a scoping doc with price, timeline, and assumptions. 4) 50% deposit, we kick off within a week.
Fixed-price or hourly?
Fixed-price by default — you know what you're paying for up front. Hourly (~USD 85 / RM 400) only for long-term maintenance retainers or early-stage discovery where scope is still fuzzy.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, happy to. I have a standard mutual NDA template or I'll sign yours. For startup founders, I usually suggest a one-line clause in the main contract instead — less paperwork, same protection.
Do you work with agencies?
Yes, white-label. I've subcontracted for 3 agencies in KL and Singapore. Keep in mind my rate is the same as my direct rate — I don't discount for volume.
WHAT I DON'T DO
saving us both time- Cold-pitch calls or 'just 15 minutes to pick your brain' meetings.
- WordPress / Wix / Squarespace builds — not my stack.
- SEO ranking guarantees. Anyone promising them is lying.
- Copying someone else's site. I've turned down five of these, I'll turn down yours.
